Sports and Casual Shoes Sole Material Classification and Performance Introduction

  1. Rubber: Used for various sports shoes outsole. Advantages: good abrasion resistance, non-slip, elastic, not easy to break, better softness, good elongation, stable shrinkage, good hardness, good bendability. Disadvantages: heavy weight, easy to spit frost (a quality problem), not easy to corrosion (environmental issues)

Rubber

    2. PU: polymer polyurethane synthetic material, often long used in basketball, tennis shoes midsole, can also be used directly for casual shoes outsole. Advantages: density, high hardness, wear resistance, good elasticity, good oxidation resistance, easy to corrode for environmental protection, not easy to wrinkle. Disadvantages: strong water absorption, easy to yellow, easy to fracture, poor elongation, not resistance to water, the bottom is easy to rot.

PU

    3. EVA: vinyl acetate copolymer, polymer materials. Commonly used in jogging, jogging, leisure shoes, foot training shoes midsole. Advantages: lightweight, good elasticity, good flexibility, not easy to wrinkle, with excellent coloring, suitable for all kinds of climate. Disadvantages: easy to absorb water, not easy to corrosion is not conducive to environmental protection, easy to dirty.

EVA

    4. PHYLON (MD): EVA secondary high-pressure molding products, international running shoes, tennis shoes, basketball shoes, the main material for the midsole, can also be used for casual shoes outsole. Advantages: lightweight, flexible, fine appearance, good softness. Easy to clean, good hardness, density, tensile strength, tearing and elongation. Disadvantages: not easy to corrosion is not conducive to environmental protection, easy to wrinkle at high temperatures, easy to shrink.

MD

    5. TPR: TPR granules are molded after hot dissolving, commonly used in jogging, jogging, casual shoes midsole and outsole. Advantages: easy to shape, cheap. Disadvantages: heavy material, poor abrasion (not wear-resistant), poor softness, poor bending (not resistant to folding), poor shock absorption ability

TPR    6. Performance comparison: TPR is heavier, heavier, general elasticity, general wear resistance. The rubber sole is also larger in specific gravity, but softer, very wear-resistant, strong grip, but poor elasticity, generally used in indoor soccer shoes and casual shoes. EVA bottom is very light, elastic, just wear a long time to reduce the elasticity, become a little more solid. (but also relatively heavy). Generally, large soles are used rubber, wear-resistant non-slip.
